The sixty-ninth session of the United Nations General Assembly ran from September 16, 2014 to September 15, 2015 and was presided over by Sam Kutesa of Uganda. The theme of the sixty-ninth session was "Delivering on and Implementing a Transformative Post-2015 Development Agenda.”

President Barack Obama attended the assembly from September 23 to September 25, 2014. President Obama presented a speech to the General Assembly on September 24, 2014 in which he vowed to combat religious extremism, condemned Russia’s actions in Ukraine, urged global action against climate change. President Obama also took part in various meetings and councils.
