The second Nuclear Security Summit was held on March 26 and March 27, 2012 at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea. The purpose of the summit series is to promote international collaboration in combating the threat of nuclear terrorism, protecting nuclear materials and facilities, and preventing trafficking of nuclear materials. The 2012 summit resulted in the Seoul Communiqué, a list of eleven areas of priority for nuclear security with specific actions to take for each area.
