The public ceremony for the 2013 Presidential Inauguration was held on Monday, January 21 at the West Front of the United States Capitol. According to law, the official, private swearing-in ceremony was held the previous day on Sunday, January 20 in the Blue Room of the White House. During the public ceremony, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden took the oath of office, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts.
