The sixty-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly ran from September 18, 2012 to September 11, 2013 and was presided over by Vuk Jeremić of Serbia. The theme of the sixty-seventh session was "Adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations by peaceful means.”
President Barack Obama attended the assembly from September 24 to September 25, 2012. President Obama presented a speech to the General Assembly on September 25, 2012 in which he addressed the attacks on American facilities in Benghazi, condemned anti-Muslim biogtry, reiterated his commitment to democracy and free speech, and pledged support for Syrian people. President Obama also took part in various meetings and councils.
