The 2010 Lisbon Summit was a NATO summit of heads of state and heads of government held in Lisbon, Portugal, on November 19 and November 20, 2010. The agenda included the adoption of a new strategic concept that addressed modern challenges, such as cyber attacks and terrorism. The member states also agreed on the development of a new mutual missile defense system and to withdraw combat forces from Afghanistan by 2014. The US-European Union Summit, which occurred on November 20, 2010, was held alongside the NATO Summit in Lisbon.
