President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit on May 24, 2011. President Obama and the First Lady arrived in London, where they were greeted by Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, at Buckingham Palace. The Obamas also met with Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Later that day, the Obamas visited Westminster Abbey, where they laid a wreath on the grave of the Unknown Soldier, and met with Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. That evening, President Obama and the First Lady were honored with a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace.
The following day, May 25, President Obama addressed the UK Parliament at the Palace of Westminster, while First Lady Michelle Obama met with students in Oxford. The Queen and Prince Philip then hosted the Obamas for a private dinner.
