President's Visit to Alaska 20152015

President Barack Obama traveled to Alaska on August 31, 2015 to highlight the threat of climate change and disruptions it is having on the lives of Americans. President Obama met with local fishermen and their families, visited Kenai Fjords National Park to observe the effects of climate change first hand, and participated in the Global Leadership in the Arctic: Cooperation, Innovation, Engagement and Resilience (GLACIER) conference. This trip made President Obama the first sitting American President to visit above the Arctic Circle in Alaska.
