President Obama gave remarks at the University of Notre Dame's 164th Commencement on May 17, 2009 at the Joyce Center in South Bend, IN. In his speech, he spoke of finding common ground and respect on the divisive issues of our time. President Obama at the time was the ninth U.S. president to be awarded an honorary degree by the University and the sixth to be the Commencement speaker.
