President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, to the White House for an official State Visit on March 10, 2016. During the visit, President Obama and Prime Minister Trudeau held a bilateral meeting and participated in a joint press conference where they discussed economic, environmental, and security collaboration. Meanwhile, the First Lady and Ms. Trudeau visited the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC. Prime Minister Trudeau was also honored with a State Dinner in the East Room of the White House.
