American, 1953-2018
Paul G. Allen was an American businessman, investor and philanthropist, best known for being a co-founder of Microsoft Corporation. He was also the founder and chairman of Vulcan Inc., which manages his various business and philanthropic efforts. Allen additionally founded the Allen Institute for Brain Science, the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and Stratolaunch Systems. He was the owner of the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and the Portland Trail Blazers (NBA), and was a part-owner of the Seattle Sounders FC (MLS).
