Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionSmall commemorative statue composed of a metal cross attached to a slanted wooden base. The cross is a model of a larger one that overlooks Santiago, Chile. The obverse of base has a token in blue, white, and yellow for the municipality of Renca and a plaque of dedication from the Mayor of Renca. The reverse of the item has a plaque detailing the history of the cross.

construida con motivo de los 500 años /
de Evangelizacion de America. /
Esta estructura simbólica de Renca, tiene /
una altura de 23 metros /
y la extensión de sus brazos es de 17 metros /
y no existe para los habitantes de esta /
comuna, un icono de reconocimiento más /
importante que esta.

It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.
