Physical DescriptionImpressionist-style painting on canvas depicting President Barack Obama speaking at College Green in Dublin. The President is standing before a podium that bears the Presidential Seal and has both hands raised to gesture has he speaks. Behind the President is a depiction of the Parliament House, Dublin with the Irish Flag billowing in the wind at the top.

Historical NoteThis painting was commissioned by the US-Ireland Alliance and presented to US Ambassador Dan Rooney in Dublin, Ireland in February 2012. Later that year the ambassador presented to the painting to President Obama.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
