Physical Description
Physical DescriptionHardcover book with a metallic orange cover and a line art illustration depicting Horton the Elephant.
Inscriptions and MarkingsInscribed on inner front cover: Dear Mr President, Congratulations on your election and best wishes as you embark on this historic journey as our 44th president. The voices of many united have spoken! Please accept this small gift - a book that I first read many years ago but still remains a favorite of mine. I am delighted every time I read the part about how the whole world of who-ville was saved by the "smallest of all", and I will never be too old to be reminded of Horton's echoing message: A person's a person no matter how small! Our world could definitely use more Hortons and I can only imagine what a Horton in the White House could do it better this country and the world around us. I pray you are up to the enormous challenges the Presidency will bring. God bless you and your family. Sincerely [Signature] Inscribed on inside back cover: P.S. Amid all the chaos, in every endeavor and decision making, please try not to forget the smallest of all - - the unwanted or neglected child, born and unborn - the mentally or physically disabled, young and old - the impoverished, homeless, uneducated of any race of creed - the abused, abandoned, discriminated, exiled of any nation - and anyone who has or feels they have no voice or hope and must rely on God's grace and God's goodness in us to sustain, protect, and validate their worth until they are able to do so themselves. Respectfully [Signature]
