United Nations General Assembly Visit 20132013

The sixty-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly ran from September 17, 2013 to September 16, 2014 and was presided over by John William Ashe of Antigua and Barbuda. The theme of the sixty-eighth session was "The Post 2015 Development Agenda: Setting the Stage.”

President Barack Obama attended the assembly from September 23 to September 24, 2013. President Obama presented a speech to the General Assembly on September 24, 2013 in which he spoke about the ongoing civil war in Syria, addressed the Israel-Palestine conflict, and urged diplomatic outreach to Iran. President Obama also took part in various meetings and councils.
