G20 Summit Saint Petersburg 20132013

The G20 (short for Group of 20) is an intergovernmental forum composed of most of the world's largest economies which encompasses 19 sovereign nations and the European Union. Formed in 1999, the goal of the G20 is to address issues related to the global economy and has had an annual summit, hosted by a member state, every year since 2008.

The eighth G20 heads of government meeting was hosted by Russia on September 5 and September 6, 2013 in St. Petersburg. The primary priorities of the summit, as dictated by the host nation, were strengthening the global economy, addressing climate change, building stronger international tax standards, amongst others.
