Let Girls Learn - Japan 20152015

First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to Japan on March 18, 2015 to launch her Let Girls Learn initiative promoting international girls education. The First Lady used the trip to announce a new partnership between the two countries to educate girls worldwide through development programs and collaboration between the Peace Corps and Japan’s Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. While in Tokyo, the First Lady met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan and his wife, Akie Abe, as well as Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.
